Australian Makeup Artist of the year 2014 Finalist

Woo-hoo! Well this is cool!
Somehow I managed to be chosen as a Makeup Artist of the year finalist for the Australian Beauty industry awards 2014. This caps off a massive year of 'makeup, sweat and tears'. Talk about a buzz!

The Awards were held at Darling harbour on the 26 August and the Makeup Artist of the year award went to the popular and very deserving Becca Gilmartin. While I was naturally disappointed I wasn't the ultimate choice I was enormously proud and thrilled to be considered with some of my heros and favourite Australian Artists. It was a great recognition and validation for myself and the many hardworking creatives and companies I have worked for and with throughout this crazy, busy year.

Awards are unnecessary really because the real reward is actually in doing the work. In being creative and in pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and surprising yourself. That said awards  are a wonderful indicator that you are somewhat appreciated and on-track which gives you confidence and encouragement when doubts and fatigue start to creep in.
