Eco Glam Makeup for the Goddess within.
The beautiful gift of nurturing yourself, with the creative expression of makeup!
As cooler weather approaches it’s the perfect time to try the beautiful eco, vegan and cruelty free makeup products that are available and trending today.
Autumn is a great time to experiment with bolder shades and more intense, deeper makeup looks.
This autumn, shades are richly pigmented with coloured, metallic and multi layered smoky eyes very popular.
Even if you are a little shy of wearing colour on your eyes, you can rock these looks when you blend the edges of your shadow well. Keep the deepest, boldest and most concentrated part of the colour in the centre of your eyelids. Fade the edges of your shadow out with another eyeshadow shade using a fluffy brush.
Colour combinations you could try, are purples which look beautiful on eyes of every colour. Deep silver grey with a rose shade, plum or navy with burnt orange, orchid and blue, emerald green with olive green, Chocolate and turquoise, bronze and golds or copper and golds are all are beautiful combinations.
If you are a creative person who loves eco fashion, you may also enjoy experimenting with different colours as the mood takes you.
If you love the idea of makeup but you just aren’t confident in application, you may enjoy doing a makeup workshop. As a professional makeup artist my favourite thing to do is, teach makeup skills. If this of interest to you, you can book a workshop at my salon or I can travel to you or your group’s location.
You will gain so much knowledge and confidence in naturally enhancing yourself or getting expressive with makeup! With practice applying makeup is such an easy way to nurture yourself, change your look and have fun.

Makeup that will keep you feeling Naked for summer 2018
Keeping your skin and makeup fresh for summer is easy with these handy tips!
In the warmer months, to achieve flawless makeup application it is important you look after your diet and your skin. You are what you eat, so a healthy diet containing lots of Fresh fruit and Veges is essential as they are not only hydrating, they are packed full of essential nutrients to help keep your skin radiant. With all the summer fruit about that part is easy! Also keep your skin well hydrated by drinking plenty of water, exfoliate regularly and use a light moisturizer. Sun protection is also important when spending time outdoors!
Starting with your makeup application, use a Foundation Primer containing Aloe as it is so hydrating and soothing. Foundation primer will also help your makeup stay put all day. I am bias and my favourite is Kylie’s Professional Mineral Goddess as it is aloe based and can also be used in place of your daytime moisturizer!
A good quality, Mineral Pressed or Loose Powder Foundation is perfectly suited for our Australian summer, allowing your skin to breathe without clogging your pores. Most Mineral Foundations will also give you natural sun protection and will stay on in humid conditions, are water resistant and are also healing.
Be sure to use the correct foundation shade in summer as the shade you used in winter or even spring may not still suit your complexion. Your foundation shade should perfectly match your body. You will have more skin exposed in summer so it is important the Foundation shade you use is correct. Test foundation on your jaw, collar bones or your shoulders. Check the shade suits you in natural daylight as indoor lighting can reflect artificial colour tones and will not guarantee the perfect match. If the foundation colour matches your body in daylight it is perfect for summer.
Bronzers are also wonderful for creating a healthy summer glow. Blend Bronzer from your cheek bones to your temples for a sun kissed look. Bronzers may also be applied as the perfect everyday eyeshadow! Highlighting your cheekbones will also give you a dazzling fresh summer glow.
Try a peachy pink blush on your Cheeks and apply a peachy pink lip shade for a natural look.
Summer eyes are beautiful with a soft shading of bronze, Gold’s and Rosegolds as they will look great with any summer outfit or occasion. When going for a softer eye makeup look keep your brows well groomed and fill them in with a natural shadow shade to help frame your face. Apply a fine layer of mascara and you are done!
If you get overheated in summer pat you face with a tissue and refresh yourself by spritzing a hydration spray over your décolletage and face for instant relief.

2017 Summer beauty trend.
Spring flowers are inspiring our favorite colour trends for this season and pretty makeup is perfect for Summer.
With a pallet of soft pastels and lightly muted shades of pink and peach, these pretty, easy to wear shades are popular summer colours. Shades of Rose-quartz pink and Peach are beautiful worn on eyes lips or cheeks. We love such beautiful colours and they are a wonderful inspiration for summertime makeup.
Wearing soft shades of Pink and peach and keeping in these colour families is perfect if you love a fresh makeup look. It is all too easy because you can wear your blush shade as a soft colour wash across your eyelid as well as wearing it to create a flushed cheek in your favorite pink or peach.
If you prefer a little more intensity to the colours you wear, you may opt for more saturated tones of peach and pink as they will also work beautifully. So choose an intensity that suits you, your mood or occassion.
A pink or peach lip will always look fresh for summer and the beauty of a softer lip shade will also help your pout look fuller. Deep colours make lips appear smaller whilst softer shades make lips appear plumper. This will also be a refreshing change for smaller lip ladies after wearing the popular deep shades of winter. This summer, either a high gloss or matt lip will both be popular.
Pink washes of shadow look amazing with green eyes while peach shades make green eyes pop. Brown eyes look stunning with either shade!
A clean, clear dewy complexion that resembles beautiful natural skin will be the preferred base. Fresh highlighting will keep you looking radiant

2017 Winter skin and eyes
It is that time of the year again when we can easily wear more makeup without the concern of humidity and perspiration making us feel hot and flustered.
In winter, our skin can become overly dry so using moisturizing skincare under makeup will help keep skin looking youthful and hydrated. Before makeup application, it is always best to use a quality Foundation Primer. I love Primers that contain Aloe Vera because of its many benefits. Aloe is healing and hydrating and using it regularly helps prevent the signs of aging.
In winter, if you have a drier skin type, you may like to use a creamy moisture/oil rich foundation as they offer extra hydration. A fine dust of mineral foundation over top of that will create a breathable barrier giving, even more, protection from the elements. If you prefer to stick with your Loose Mineral Foundation from summer, make sure the shade is still correct as your summer tan fades. Remember too, your face and body must match. I like to test the foundation shade on the décolletage or even the top of the arms.
With the cooler weather and current fashion trends black liner and Smokey eyes are a favorite look and especially ideal for evenings out.
Try deep grey/black, navy, plum or very black tones for your Smokey eye shadow look. Tight lining the waterline with pencil liner is on trend this season teamed with the Smokey eye. If you have sensitive eyes or smaller eyes I would avoid lining the water line and stick to only lining the lash line. Many eye-care professionals warn against lining the inside waterline as it can lead to problems if strict hygiene is not followed. It is also dangerous to use liners containing harsh chemicals as liner often wears off into the eye.
I suggest lining the water line only very occasionally as build-up of product in the eye area can be irritating. Waterproof gel liners especially, do not break down easily and are harder for the eye to flush out. If you want to try this trend, stick to traditional creamy/wax based pencil liners. Always sharpen your pencil before applying your liner as this will keep the pencil hygienic. Gently cleanse the liner from your eyes with a wet cotton tip at the end of the day.
The perfectly groomed and bold, statement-brows are starting to fade with softer brushed up brows making a more subtle statement.
Peachy-rose flushed cheeks give a lovely healthy glow in winter. The Highlighter trend is a stunning look when lightly applied. Use highlighter on the high points of the face. Cheekbones, brow bone and cupids bow are the go to highlighting points.
A peachy, nude or softer pink lip will all work well with the Smokey eye. A bold red or plum lip will also work if you want to go for a dramatic, glamorous look.
